Imphal, December 06: The body of Rifleman Thokchom Sanayaima (40) of 4 Assam Rifles who was found killed by some people by choking him inside a pond located in front of Koirengei Forest Gate under Heingang Police Station on the night of December 3 has been taken away by his family members after post-mortem examination at RIMS mortuary today.

Sanayaima was a resident of Koirengei Thongkhong Nilakuthi Lamkhai.

Police have already arrested three persons in connection with the killing.

The arrested persons are Hidangmayum Tolbapu of Nambol Makha Leikai, a Rifleman of 4 IRB under suspension from service; Chanamthabam Tondon (22) of Koirengei Bazar and Rifleman Thangtingei Touthang of 4 IRB.

Meanwhile, it is said that the Chief Minister yesterday reportedly assured the representatives of the JAC formed in connection with the killing that the post of the 4th IRB at Thengu Chingjin would be shifted to Taphou in Senapati district from May next year.
