Imphal, November 03 2008: Pradhan of Irong Chesaba Gram Panchayat Md Zuma Khan (35) s/o Md Pishak was shot dead by unidentified persons at Lilong Nungei at about 4.30 pm today.

A police team, on learning that a man shot dead by unidentified persons was lying at Lilong Nungei Dolaithabi Ataobi Chingya, went to the spot.

There, the police team found a man with fatal bullet injuries on the head and other parts of the body, informed a police source.

Zuma Khan was abducted by some unidentified persons from Thoubal Khekman this morning.

He went out this morning saying that he would be going to Thoubal DC office, informed a source.

Lilong Police have picked up the corpse and deposited it at RIMS morgue.

The reason for the killing and the group behind the killing could not be ascertained till the time of filing this report.
