Imphal, April 03: Governor Dr SS Sidhu convened a meeting with the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh and DGP Y Joykumar and discussed the prevailing law and order situation in the State today at 3 pm.

The details of the meeting are however not known.

The meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of the report that the Centre has taken a serious view over the recent spate of violence and killings.

The meeting also discussed the proposed election to the Autonomous District Council as well as the Ordinance to be issued by the Governor in this connection.
