Three including two minor injured in bomb attack

Imphal, June 26: Thirteen people were injured in a bomb attack carried out by unidentified personals at Ningthoukhong Bazar at Bishnupur district Manipur this morning around 11:30 while shopkeepers of the area were staging a protest Dharna against extortion.

Among the injured three including two minor children are in critical condition.

The incident occurred when a hand grenade was lobbed towards a crowd of shop keepers who were staging a sit in protest against monetary demand by militants at Ningthoukhong Bazar.

According to eye witness, some unidentified persons who came from the Imphal side by an auto rickshaw lobbed a hand grenade and fled the place.

The injured person included two girls aged 7 and 12 and a man aged 44, they were rushed to RIMS hospital.

Three person including two minor children were critically injured when a gruesome bomb attack carried out by unidentified personals, exploded amidst a crowd of shopkeepers who were staging a sit in protest against extortion and monetary demand by militants.

Ten other received minor injuries in the bomb attack.

Those who were seriously injured were rushed to the RIMS hospital emergency ward.

Among them Anupama, a seven years old girl, Akumpi twelve years old and Surchandra fourty four years old were seriously injured.

Embittered over the incident, those who accompanied the injured person to the hospital were heard saying to wipe out all militant outfits from the state.

Following the shocking incident, the situation in Ningthoukhong bazaar in Bishnupur district of Manipur is becoming very tense and security has been tightened around the area.
