Imphal, October 24 2009: Along with identification one of the slain UG suspects out of two of them killed by a combined force of Imphal West Police Commandos and personnel of 39 Assam Rifles during a reported encounter at Yengaobung under Lamshang Police Station last night, the family members have asserted that the deceased was an innocent person who had no connection with any UG group.

The deceased was one Khundrakpam Priyokumar alias Ibungo (45) s/o Babu of Thangalawai Sabal Leikai but staying in a quarter of the Police Housing Corporation at Lamphel for around 2 months.

According to his family members, Priyokumar had no connection with any UG groups and was a trader in gem stones from Moreh.

At around 6 pm yesterday, he had gone out of home on his Yamaha motor cycle (MNE-1709) carrying Rs 50,000 in cash and some gem stones.

Before that he was heard talking over the phone with some non-locals from Delhi who have come to purchase the stones with regard to transaction.

While everyone was worried over the failure of his returning home the whole night, the family members came across the news report of killing two persons in shoot out and recovering a red colour Yamaha motorcycle.

Accordingly, they went to the morgue and confirmed that one of the deceased was Priyokumar.

The identity of the other slain UG suspect is yet to be confirmed and is still lying at the mortuary of RIMS Hospital.

It is said that the deceased has short hair, ear lobes are not pierced and found clad in shirt of sky blue colour, black jean pant and white shoes.

There is also a amulet on the left arm.
