Imphal, June 23: Saying that the State Government has done nothing for the welfare and safety of Heirok people except for picking up SPO candidates, the Heirok JAC has decried the failure of athe State Government to fulfil its demands.

A press release issued by the JAC informed that out of 12 demands it put forward to the Government, only two has been fulfilled so far.

Following warnings from two UG outfits against Heirok people not to venture out of their locality, students outside Heirok have come back and daily wage earners have been enduring untold misery as they fear for their safety while working outside Heirok.

Reminding that it is the responsibility of the Government to ensure security for all the citizens, the JAC appealed to the Government to ensure that each citizen enjoy all the fundamental rights and that there is freedom of speech and peace in the society.
