Imphal, August 12: Asserting that the last omission of L Monika Devi from the Beijing squad is not only an insult to the woman weight lifter but to the whole people of Manipur, the proscribed RPF today said that this instance shows that India does not care or respect the people of Manipur.

In a statement, the outfit today said that what India wants is only the territory of Manipur and what happened to Monika can happen to others in the future.

It also hailed the decision taken during the public meeting organized by MOA on August 11 wherein it was decided that until and unless those responsible for ruining the career of Monika do not apologies to the people of Manipur and are not punished by August 17, then it would move the IOC to enable Manipur to take part in the Olympics separately.

The decision to impose a general strike from 5am of August 19 till 5am of August 20 in line of the demand is also right, said the statement.

The only way for the people of Manipur to avoid such ignominy in the future is to demand our right to self determination, said the outfit further.
