Meet re-iterates June 18 stand

Imphal, August 03: A public meeting held at Wangoo Ahallup Chuthek Leikai to discuss the blockade and the integrity of Manipur today resolved that even if the blockade goes on for 100 years, the June 18 declaration should not be revoked.

Organised by the Manipurgi Apunba Ngamkhei Kanbada Tengbangba Lup, Wangoo, the meeting adopted a number of resolutions.

The resolutions include, Condemning the stand of some organisations which said that there is no harm if June 18 is not declared a State holiday; all political parties without differentiating on the basis of Opposition or ruling should work together to tackle the present situation; all voluntary organisations should join hands together; the Lup not to extend co-operation to any organisation which wants to go it alone as well as bar the entry of such organisations into Wangoo; demand an explanation from the 11 MLAs and the two MPs who appended their signatures on the memorandum submitted to the PM endorsing the formation of Greater Nagaland.
