Dimapur, June 02: In what is believed to be a case of continued factional killings, an NSCN-IM activist and his driver were murdered by the cadres of the rival group in Dimapur on Monday morning.

According to the Dimapur police, gunmen believed to be NSCN-Unification cadres have shot dead the two persons after abducting them from Dimapur's Kher Mahal area.

The police identified the slain cadre as 'Lt' Subongnungsang (31) of NSCN (I-M), son of Imtimar of Nokpu village, who was staying at Lingrijan while his driver has been identified as one Jyoti Nepali, son of Ram Bahadur who was staying at Bor Lingri.

The police said that the gunmen abducted the NSCN-IM activist alongwith his driver at around 8:30 am on Monday from Kher Mahal and brought them to a place called East Block, Burma Camp and shot them dead.

The police rushed to the spot after they were being informed of the incident and found that both the deceased were blind folded with hands tied from behind and bore bullet wounds in their heads.
