Imphal, January 02: Police bomb experts retrieved a hand-grenade 'gifted' to Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Keba by unidentified persons on the intervening night of December 31, 2007 and January 1, 2008 and exploded the same at a safe location.

According to information received by the press, the grenade was neatly packed and asked for delivery to the MLA who is currently out of station.

Expected the wrapped item to be gift, one Kalachand on unwrapping the same discovered it was a bomb.

Meanwhile, taking grim note of the act the Central Executive Committee of MLA, Patsoi AC demanded clarification from those involved at the earliest and appealed for sanity by all concerned.

In another incident, police personnel recovered a hand grenade from near the gate of BRTF in Lamphelpat at around 3 pm yesterday.

The explosive device had been set off along the Langol road.
