Imphal, December 30 2009: Reiterating its stand on the incident of Nongbrang killing,, Keithelmanbi Youth Association (KYA) has outrightly rejected the statements given by one N Tolen Singh and published in some section of the media as false and unfounded.

In a statement, KYA general secretary SL Lhunkholen asserted that it is clear that Yangminlal Haokip s/o of late Khaisei Haokip of Bongbal Khullen village escaped unhurt from the hands of some miscreants who shouted discriminatory slogans and one Naotombi Singh has been identified to have led his gang to commit the act of murder.

However, timely intervention of the security personnel thwarted the murder attempt directed toward Yangminlal Haokip who could make his way through the Thoubal river and save himself from the hands of the murderers.

Denouncing the statements made earlier by UCM over the issue as immature that reflects narrow minded-ness on its part, Lhunkholen pointed out that sitting Pradhan Rajmani had on December 27 personally confessed in an area meeting that Paosat Kipgen and Paominlal Chongloi were innocent civilians.

Demanding replacement of the 6th IRB post at Thoubal Multipurpose Project, Keithelmanbi by BSF/CRPF, KYA has also reminded the Chief Minister to fulfil the agreements signed on December 23 with the three apex student bodies namely KSO, ANSAM and ATSUM.

Meanwhile, condemning the killing, Bongbal Khullen Village Authority has explained that Paosat Kipgen s/o of Lhunkhojang Kipgen was a resident of Bongbal Khullen village but his family had temporarily shifted to Shillong since his father was serving as an Indian Army though no retired from service.

A graduate from Goodwill College, Shillong and his friend Paominlal Chongloi, who had just completed his M Com from NEHU, Shillong were returning to Bongbal Khullen to celebrate Christmas when they were lynched by the mob/protestors.

Both Paosat and Paominlel were also executive members of KSO Shillong Branch serving as secretary art and culture and secretary games and sports respectively.

The village authority has also denounced the cruel intention of 6th IRB and the undue interference of UCM.
