Imphal, July 27: Even as the Senior Citizen Forum, Heirok asserted some days back through a press release that the forum does not want to set up SPO at Heirok, some police personnel yesterday came and picked up land owners and forced them to give land for the construction of SPO barrack.

The forum today in a meeting discussed and took serious note of yesterday's incident.

Maintaining that setting up of SPO in Heirok may bring lots of inconveniences to the villagers, the forum urged the State Government to review the Cabinet decision of May 2.The forum also sought cooperation from the civil organisations in this regard.

The forum also warned that the State Government would be responsible for any untoward incident arising out of the situation.

The senior citizens also welcomed the decision of the proscribed KYKL and UNLF for lifting their ban for 15 more days.
