Imphal, December 17: Unidentified gunmen shot dead two suspected cadres of the proscribed PULF at Sora hillock under Kakching Police Station at around 5 pm today.

The slain cadres have been identified as Md Azad Khan alias Ibungo (21) s/o Md Abdul Kadir of Urup Salanpham Litan Makhong and Md Alamkhan alias Akhan (19) s/o Md Ahemad of Sora Mamang Leikai.

Both the bodies have been handed over to their respective family members after post-mortem examination at Lilong PHC.

Meanwhile, information and publicity secretary of the proscribed PULF Md Belal Khan has clarified that the last night's incident at Sora area in which two cadres were shot dead while another sustained injuries was due to some misunderstanding among the party cadres and the same has been confirmed from the report submitted by Thoubal district commander Rizwal.

PULF diktat: Charging with partiality and narrow outlook in discharging his official duty, the proscribed outfit PULF has asked one Yumnam Deven of Keishamthong Moirang Ningthou Leirak who works as the EE in Engineering Cell of Education (U) to surrender to it within December 25.Failure on the part of Deven to surrender within the said deadline would compel the party to award capital punishment, information and publicity secretary of the outfit Md Belal Khan said in a statement.

The outfit further said that attitude of Education Minister L Jayantakumar who seems to forget that Manipur is a place where many different ethnic groups of people co-exist together is really unfortunate.

As to the cases of G Joychandra Sharma of Bamon Leikai who works as the Chief Engineer of PHED and Md Aziz Khan of Keikhu Muslim village who works as Additional Chief Engineer of IFCD, the outfit announced that the earlier restriction imposed on them had been lifted in respect of the sentiment of their family members and relatives.
