Imphal, April 17: One NSCN-IM officer and two cadres of the NSCN-Unification group were killed in a clash today after the NSCN (U) attacked the rival group, reports NNN from Dimapur.

NSCN-IM 'lieutenant' Shondhar hurt in the attack succumbed to his injury at Dimapur Civil Hospital at around 5 pm today.

Reports said that NSCN-Unification group led by Lt.Khetovi, Guard Commander of Lt Col Samsan Aye proceeded to Dimapur and attacked two NSCN-IM members at Khermahal area at around 2.30 pm today, injuring Lt Shondhar seriously.

They were in a motorworkshop attending to their vehicles being repaired.

Later, the NSCN-IM officer succumbed.

An hour later, the NSCN-IM cadres waylaid a Maruti Gypsy at Eros Lane in Dimapur and shot dead two cadres of the NSCN-Unification group.

Prior to the Khelmohal incident this morning, at Wungram Colony in Dimapur the Unification group waylaid two NSCN-IM members identified as 'Lance Corporal' Alung Zeliang and Corporal Achumo.

When the NSCN-Unification charged with AK-47, Alung Zeliang somehow had a miraculous escape as the firing missed him by a whisker.

The bullet went through the skin near the ear of Alung while Achumo Lotha was whisked away by the NSCN-Unification group.
