Imphal, April 13 2009: Contending that the three youths killed in a reported encounter with Thoubal police commandos at Ikop Pat on April 9 were innocent, local Meira Paibis staged protest demonstrations at Kachikhul, Karong and Sangaithel.

Kangabam Netrajit (18), Kangabam Brajamohon (18) and Henam Sanachouba (19), all belonging to Karong were killed in the reported encounter.

With the constitution of a JAC against the killing, memoranda have been already submitted to the Governor and the Chief Minister.
