Arming Heirok people: KYKL/UNLF spell out final stand

Imphal, June 06: Announcing their final decision in case the people of Heirok accept the arms given to them by the Government to protect themselves, the proscribed KYKL and UNLF today they would be constrained to adopt a number of strong decisions.

In a joint statement issued to the press, the two outfits said that if the people of Heirok accept the arms then they would not spare the individuals who took money from Chief Minister O Ibobi to mislead the public.

Capital punishment would be awarded.

The KYKL and UNLF will also treat all those who are encouraging the ploy hatched by the Government india, including the Chief Minister as enemies and take up action accordingly.

From the day the people of Heirok accept the guns from the Government of India then no one from Heirok will be allowed to venture outside to other places, added the two outfits.

The statement further said that KYKL and UNLF will not tolerate the policy of taking guns from the Government of India and opening barracks in the locality under the command of the Indian agents.

The decisions taken may be tightened or relaxed according to the situation in the future, added the statement.

The two outfits said that they had already made their stand known on the issue earlier.

With the Heirok people refusing to take the guns, if the SPOs are to be deployed for CI Ops, Chief Minister O Ibobi under instructions from the Government of India retracted from his earlier and announced that the SPOs will not be be used for CI Ops, said the statement.

This is nothing but a ploy to befool the public, said the two outfits.

KYKL and UNLF had also earlier assured the people that it would work with the people to check the activities of groups which are demeaning to the movement and which alienate the public from the movement.
