One shot dead at Hatta

Imphal, December 03: A married man who was reportedly called from his rented home at Hatta by his mistress was found shot dead by some unidentified persons at a spot in between Langthabal Khunou and Koijam Maring village, about 5 kms North East of Kakching police station last midnight.

The deceased identified as Md Abdul Rehman alias Chaoba (32) of Silchar was reportedly having an extra-marital affair with a woman from Sora.

Following a call from his lover, Abdul Rehman left home on a motorcycle (Pulsar) at about 1.30 pm yesterday.

The deceased had a son and a daughter from his legal wife.

He was a painter for vehicles.

It is reported that the red coloured Pulsar (MN-1M-2844) driven by Abdul Rehman belongs to one Md Amir Khan of Hatta.

Rehman was accompanied by another un-identified person when he left home on the motor-cycle.

The corpse of Abdul Rehman was discovered this morning.

A bullet which hit in the back of the right ear exited through the left cheek.

Another bullet mark was also observed on the left thigh.

Moreover, his right palm was also found split by another bullet.

With the Pulsar driven by Abdul Rehman missing, the details of the man who accompanied him cannot be established as yet.

Following registration of a case at Kakching police station in connection with the killing, the corpse has been handed over to family members after post mortem at Lilong PHC today.
