Imphal, May 03: While alleging that various underground outfits indulged in large scale malpractices in favour of certain candidates during the recent Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency election, MPP candidate Kim Gangte Kipgen termed the poll as "the most farcical exercise ever in the history of Manipur".

She demanded quashing of the whole Outer seat poll exercise and order a new free and fair election where unhealthy intervention from all quarters should be checked.

"It was not at all an election of the people", Kim quipped while talking to media-persons at her Langol Games Village residence today.

Though some underground outfits issued numerous restrictions on the election, it was not at all effective in Naga inhabited areas including Chandel, Tamenglong, Senapati and Ukhrul districts, she maintained.

Taking advantage of the ban, some other underground outfits embarked on a sinister campaign to pave the path of victory for their favored candidate, Kim charged adding that on the other hand, Thoubal and Churachandpur district voters could not exercise their franchise owing to diktats of the outfits.

Referring to the ongoing allegations and counter charges between the BJP candidate D Loli Adanee and Independent Mani Charenamei she said both should be disqualified for their misconduct during the polls.

Going hammer and tongs against the fielding of Janata Dal (United) candidate Rosangzuala in the Outer seat, the former MP questioned why a person with Mizoram antecedents should take interest in political matters of Manipur.

Kim further alleged that Rosangzuala is sponsored by Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga with a hidden agenda of engineering compromise on the territorial integrity of Manipur.

She also claimed that re-poll were not conducted on April 22 at 55 Thanlon, 57 Henglep and certain other polling stations of 60 Sing-hat assembly constituencies as the poll material and personnel had never reached at the said centres.

In fact massive proxy voting was done by an underground outfit in favour of BJP candidate at a village along Guite Road, contended the MPP nominee.

She claimed that Henglep and Thanlon villagers complaint to her regarding absence of poll personnel and materials like EVMs at the two assembly segments.

Moreover, her agents for the poll in these centres have also lodged complaints on the same matter to the Election Commission of India through the Assistant Returning Officer, Churachandpur district.

Kim also accused III IRB CO Christopher Doungel for the police officer's active role in favour of NCP candidate Holkhomang Haokip and the ECI has been informed on the matter for appropriate action against the IPS officer.

The complaint dated april 24 stated that Christopher Doungel was sent to command security escort for repolls at 57/41, 57/44, 57/46 and 58/03 on April 23.
