Imphal, February 03 2009: The proscribed PREPAK and its armed wing Red Army have condoled the death of cadres��Aheibam Oken Meetei (31) s/o A Kumar of Sagolband Takyel Kolom Leikai and Shamurailatpam Dinamani Sharma (29) s/o Sh Modon of Yairipok Kakyai Leikai.

The two were shot dead by a combined team of Imphal East commandos and troops of 28 AR at a seri-culture farm at Top Yaralpat on February 1 .

A press release issued by the outfit's secretary in-charge of department of publicity and propaganda Aheiba Angom contended police statement that the two were killed in a shoot-out.

It alleged that the two cadres were shot dead later in a fake encounter after subjecting them to severe torture just to get gallantry awards.

To make the claim of encounter appear authentic, the security team kept a broken down M-16 rifle near the corpses, it alleged while clarifying that no such weapon has ever been issued to any Red Army cadre.

Observing that killing of people in cold blood without conducting trial is a war crime despised by the international community, the outfit said that it took serious note of the incident.

The outfit also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved families and their near and dear ones.
