Politicians cautioned against �dirty� politics

Imphal, August 02: While cautioning the politicians of the Manipur against playing communal politics among the people, Manipur Intellectual Forum (MIF) has resolved to urged the both the State Government and the Centre for taking up the repairing/improvement of the National Highway 53 and 150 on war footing so that the people of Manipur are not subjected to hardships because of frequent economic blockade along the NH-39.An executive committee meeting of the Forum was held at Manipur Press Club with Forum president Ch Gopalmacha in the chair to discuss the prevailing situation following the imposition of indefinite economic blockade along the National Highway 39 by ANSAM in protest against declaration of June 18 as State Integrity Day and Holiday by the State Government.

The meeting also resolved to exert pressures on the State Government for bring about an amicable solution with the agitating students� body to resolve the present impasse in view of the problems being faced by the common people.

Meanwhile, Kabui Samiti Manipur has appealed to both ANSAM and the State Government to do with away with their confrontationist stand and arrived at an amicable solution for the sake of the suffering people.

Whether the present deadlock should be solved not lies in the hands of the two contending parties, working president of the Samiti S Lungpuijei stated categorically in a statement.

The Samiti would appealed to all concerned not to try to communal tinge in the present issue and said that it Kabui community would not like to see any communal clashes among the people living in the State.
