Imphal, December 30 2008: The proscribed RPF has offered revolutionary salute to its late cadre Lt Bimol.

According to a press release issued by the outfit's chief of Communication and Publicity Department Gm Changjou, Lt Bimol was shot dead by AR troops posted at Tengnoupal after taking him into their custody and subjecting to severe torture at Gopibung on December 28.Clarifying that no weapon or document was with Bimol when he was apprehended by the AR troops, the outfit asserted that the act of killing an apprehended individual only testified that security forces of the country have been blatantly violating international laws.

Born to Sarokhaibam Sohor and S Tekpi of Wangoo Sabal Mamang Leikai in 1969, Bimol alias Noren joined RPF in 1993.He was promoted to L/Cpl in 1996 and then to Cpl in February 1998 .

He was given the rank of Sergeant in September 1998 and Sergeant Major in 2001.Bimol was again promoted to the rank of 2nd Lt in 2005.Finally, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on September 25 this year.

Hailing Bimol as a disciplined, diligent and capable cadre, the outfit also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved family.
