Imphal, May 30 2010: The Sinlung Indigenous Peoples Human Rights Organisation (SIPHRO) has strongly condemned onslaught on civilians by IRBs and police commandos along NH 53 near Khumji village on May 29 in which three civilians were reportedly injured.

A press release issued by the Sinlung Indigenous Peoples Human Rights Organisation said that the State Government should take moral responsibility for the undesirable incident and take action against the authorities and personnel responsible for the incident.

The Rongmei Women Organisation has also condemned the alleged excesses committed by police commandos and IRB at Noney on NH 53 .

It said that the public were not to be blamed for the truck that capsized on the road by itself as it was being driven without any hindrance from any side.

Meanwhile, the Naga Youth Front (NYF) has asserted that it is not a time for confusion and doubts or differences to come in the way of the Nagas' struggle for freedom and dignified existence.

Saying that Nagas alone has the right to determine their future, it appealed to different Naga political groups to set aside their differences and work together.
