Imphal, October 25 2009: Claiming its hand in the elimination of Pukhrambam Mangoljao s/o P Biren of Kumbi Kangjeibung, the proscribed UNLF asserted that Mangoljao was awarded death penalty for his seditious crime of killing a kid.

A press release issued by the outfit' senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba said that some individuals suspected to be involved in killing five year old Soram Prabhakar alias Thoi in the most brutal manner by breaking the kid's neck and smashing the head with stones on October 18 were summoned and questioned.

During the course of the investigation, Mangoljao confessed that he was behind the gruesome murder.

Observing that such gruesome murder of a small kid just for his ear-rings was a crime against humanity, the UNLF asserted that ruthless, cold-blooded killers are a threat to the society.

Considering the gravity of the crime, Mangoljao was awarded capital punishment by the outfit's civil court.

The court's decision was executed in the intervening night of October 18 and 19, Yoiheiba conveyed.
