KCP (MC) shares thoughts on killings, other issues

Imphal, June 25 2009: Commenting on the serial killings of non-local labourers, the proscribed KCP (MC) observed that even as targeting non-local people was based on a sound principle, it would bring negative implications to the people of the land.

It would be of great regret to the revolutionary groups in future if the State has to pay with the lives of an MBA or engineering student for very non-local milk-seller or construction worker killed.

A statement issued by the outfit's military affairs secretary Lanheiba Meitei asserted that no revolutionary group struggling to shape the future of a nation should try to deceive their own people.

Noting that majority of the accused pulled up in connection with the killing of contractor Krishnadas were under-trial prisoners detained in jail, the outfit claimed that discovery of cell phone/pen-gun etc from Sajiwa Jail has proved that the place has become the "master-key house" for conspiring to extort and fragmenting parties/organisations.

It is said that a jail is one convenient place for revolutionaries to educate themselves and also to raise their revolutionary spirit.

But KCP (MC) did not take those indulging in untoward activities for their selfish ends while staying in jail as revolutionaries, Lanheiba conveyed.

Questioning how far the State Government can go to bring justice in the murder case of Krishnadas, the outfit alleged that the particular case would turn out to be one of many such cases which were allowed to fade away with the passage of time without attaining the logical end.

Remanding the accused to police custody for 10/15 days was also hoodwinking the public.

Taking such a long period only to ascertain whether the accused were involved or not in the killing of Krishnadas is nothing but waiting for the comments and opinions of security forces, it alleged.

The people of Kangleipak ought to know that security forces including police commandos were involved in the killing of Krishnadas, the outfit added.

While taking due note of relentless and selfless struggle of the womenfolk of Manipur against all odds, the outfit lamented that the underprivileged and poverty-stricken common people are facing a grim prospect of living under mercy of the few moneyed, privileged and armed people.

There is no guarantee that 'Class struggle' which have been one predominant feature of all revolutionary movements across the world, will not erupt in Kangleipak.

Taking strong exception to the repeated acts of harassment and victimisation meted out to the underprivileged class and daily wage earners, the KCP (MC) called upon all the people to understand and identify with the hardships being endured by their underprivileged compatriots.

Observing that Manipur today has become a killing field virtually, the outfit lamented that the local collaborators involved in the killing spree have forgotten their roots, country men, their own brothers and sisters.

Their sense of patriotism has been thrown away in the wind.

Yet, the outfit reminded those receiving medals and gallantry awards for killing their own people that they too are sons of the land.
