Imphal, January 22 2010: A 38 year old man was found dead in a suspicious manner in the bed of Imphal river near Minuthong at about 10 am today.

It is reported that Achom Pradip of Keishampat Kangabam Leikai went shopping for the Swasthi pujah ceremony of his son.

Besides mark of strangulation on the neck, Pradip's nose was also found bleeding, said police source.

According to family members, Pradip went out together with three other individuals last morning to buy articles for the Swasthi Pujah ceremony of her fourth son.

The Swasthi pujah ceremony was solemnised yesterday.

Four of them went out on two scooters (Dio and a Marvel).

Two of them belonging to the locality of Pradip came back after buying meat.

Pradip and Janet of Keishampat Thiyam Leikai stayed back to buy some articles.

On the information given by Janet that Pradip went to a house located at Hatta, family members went there but they did not find Pradip.

Moreover, Pradip's cell phone was found switched off.
