Imphal, October 12 2009: A special meeting of all the media persons working in Manipur has been convened tomorrow to discuss the attitude of the police towards media and its personnel.The meeting also decided that all mediapersons would launch a cease work strike as mark of protest against the unbecoming attitude of the police tomorrow.

The decision to convene the special meeting was taken during an emergency joint meeting of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) and the Editors today.

According it was decided that the special meeting would begin at 11 am sharp after registration of the participants by 10.30 am and AMWJU would be responsible for those who fail to attend the meeting.

The joint meeting of AMWJU and the Editors also unanimously elected Editor of Sanaleibak daily A Mobi as the spokesperson of AMWJU.

On account of the cease work strike of the mediapersons tomorrow, there would be no publication of newspapers on October 14 for morning newspapers while there will no be publication for eveningers.
