Imphal, April 12 2009: In continuing attack against the Congress party, the Mayang Imphal Block Congress office was bombed today at about 7.40 pm injuring at least 2 people.

Police sources identified the injured as Meitram Tomba (18) of Mayang Imphal bazar and Mongjam Tomchou of Mayang Imphal Konchak.

Tomba suffered splinter injuries on the head, left hand and chest while Tomchou was hit on the right leg.

The latter is said to be out of danger.

Both have been admitted to RIMS hospital.

The proscribed KCP (MC) had announced that it would target the Congress and urged all not to campaign for the party in the election.

On April 7 the office of the Wangkhei Block Congress was bombed while earlier on February 26 the Congress office at Nambol was attacked.
