PREPAK hits back

Imphal, January 12: Observing that revolutionary movements across the world often come across obstacles and conspiracies from within in the form of turn-coats and betrayers, the proscribed PREPAK accepted that it is now entangled in a similar messed up situation.

Ridiculing the statement of Chinglemba Mangang that sovereignty will be restored within a fixed period of time and the revolutionary movement will be stopped if its objective cannot be achieved within the stipulated time as if the liberation struggle is a game of sports, PREPAK Publicity and Propaganda in-charge Aheiba Angom, in a press statement, divulged some cases of killings and injuring civilians perpetrated by Chinglemba Mangang.

According to Aheiba Angom, the open and secret killings perpetrated by Chinglemba included killing of Wahengbam Shamungou (45) f/o comrade Bicky of Takyel Kolom Leikai at Tera on October 21, last year and injuring one tutor of the children of comrade Rakesh's younger brother at Lamphel Sanakeithel on the same day.

Killing of All Manipur Kabaddi Association chief functionary Khundom Nandeshore (32) at Khurai on October 28 last year and killing of Yaikhom Angam alias Bobi (27) s/o Y Mani and Ningthoujam Mangalsana (28) s/o N Manihar of Yourabung Mamang Leikai at Kharasom on October 22; killing of a man at Akampat on October 20 and also many cases of criminal activities were perpetrated in crowded areas by Chinglemba resulting in large scale casualties to the public, listed Aheiba.

In addition, many killings which were not perpetrated by PREPAK nor claimed by it but perceived by the public as undertaken by the outfit were actually undertaken by Chinglemba Mangang without making any explanation or claim.

Recalling the assurance of Chinglemba Mangang that they would warn an accused first and then informed his family and lastly the local Meira Paibis before eliminating the accused, Aheiba questioned whether they (Chinglemba's group) followed their assurance in all those cases of killings undertaken by them.

"Were comrade Bicky's father and Rakesh's younger sister in-law guilty?", Aheiba asked.

"Can they justify their random act of attacking innocent civilians and family members of party comrades ?", he further asked.

Asserting that people would not be fooled by the baseless propaganda of Chinglemba regarding abstinence from fraternal killings, Aheiba stated that after taking into account of the acts of terrorism perpetrated by his group no organisation/party having their own principle would accept Chinglemba and his faction as a revolutionary group.

Claiming that his group never attack innocent people, Aheiba maintained that necessary explanations were given for any action/punishment it undertook/awarded.

Aheiba further clarified that the ongoing liberation struggle is for the people and the nation but not for personal gains nor to take revenge like mafia gangs.

Regarding the killing of Chaoba alias Thengra and Ingocha of Nongmaikhong Mayai Leikai, Aheiba claimed that recovery of weapons from their possession and their faults were explained to the local Meira Paibis and JAC members with video recordings.

He also asked as to how could innocent civilians possess weapons.

From all his actions and words, it is clear that Chinglemba prefers factionalism to unity and that he perceives revolutionary movement as a business venture, Aheiba alleged.
