Imphal, January 09: Chief of Sangaiprou Kabui Village Kamei Kadudai has denied existence of any person identified as Ibeyaima Kabui (36) who is allegedly involved in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Baby Lungnila Elizabeth.

The Chief also denied that any person by the name of Yaima Kabui and Kondum Kabui from Tamei in Tamenglong district are or ever stayed in a rented house of the village.

Talking to reporters today, the village chief informed that the police have come to the village looking for �these non- existing persons� after the police took into custody one Ro- me, who had been rounded by UNLF for his involvement in the gruesome crime.

The incident has also given a bad impression of the village to the people, he regretted.

The village chief said that when the police came along with Rome, they could not locate the houses of Ibeyaima Kabui, Yaima Kabui and Kondum Kabui as none of these persons are staying in the village.

Rome also confessed that he did not know the whereabouts of these persons and whatever he had said was un-der the pressure of UNLF, the chief said.

Former secretary of Sangaiprou Naga Youth Organisation, Abiton who also spoke to the reporters wondered why UNLF did not verified the statement made by Rome during investigation and arrest all the other accused persons.

Newmai News Network adds from Tamei: Tamei Headquarters Authority and Zeliangrong Student�s Union of Tamei Area have strongly refuted to the reports in the local dailies mentioned by Lungnila Elizabeth murder accused N.Rome that Yaima Kabui (32) and Kondum Kabui (27) as from Tamei staying in rented house at Sangaiprou to whom the murder kingpin James Kuki had reportedly contacted to keep the kidnapped child.

In a statement, the two organizations said that there are no such persons in Tamei area as mentioned by N.Rome and warned of dire consequences to anybody who is trying to tarnish the name of the area.

Meanwhile, the Zeliangrong Student�s Union, Tamei Area, has urged the State Govt to see the paralytic state of the administration in Tamei subdivision due to the prolong absence of Tamei SDO.

The student body also urged the local MLA Z.Mangaibou not to forget his area and urged the minister to send the SDO to discharge his duty at the earliest.
