Imphal, September 08: In protest against the firing attack by unidentified gunmen near the residential gate of Chief Executive Engineer of Command Area Development Authority (CADA) Thokchom Kesho at Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi Thokchom Leikai, employees of CADA staged a Wakat Meepham today.

Placards with slogans like 'we condemn firing attack on officials', etc were used during the protest.

On the other hand, employees of Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) staged a sit-in-protest in front of their office at Khuman Lampak today decrying the threat given by one armed outfit.

Placards inscribed with wording like 'No to bombs, yes to balls', 'Sports promote peace and integrity', etc were seen being putting up at the protest site.

It may be recalled here that on September 5 afternoon panic stricken employees of the Department trooped out from the office following bomb threat by an armed outfit in connection with demand for some sports materials.
