Imphal, February 07: A combined force of Imphal East Police Commandos and 32 Assam Rifles personnel shot dead a suspected PULF activist during a encounter along the road leading to Naharup Makha Leikai Ningol Khul under Porompat Police Station at around 7.10 pm today.

Along with recovering one 9 mm pistol which was loaded with three live rounds of ammunition from the possession of the slain activist, two empty cartridges have also been reportedly recovered from the site of the encounter by the combined force.

Police have picked up the body and deposited it RIMS morgue.
