Imphal, December 01 2009: All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) has strongly condemned the uncivil and threatening words used by Maj Vinod and Maj Abishek of Assam Rifles at the office of the Lamka Post on November 28 in connection with a press release published in the local daily.

The AMWJU also pledged solidarity to All Manipur Hill Journalist Union.

The All Manipur Hill Journalist Union has also decried the high-handedness of the two AR Majors.

The MHJU strongly objected the abusive and undemocratic language like "...you will be gone...press people are hopeless,...

are linked with UGs" as well as the act of threatening the Editor of the Lamka Post.

Claiming to be friends of the hill people while threatening and using abusive languages to them is deceitful and incomprehensible, the MHJU said in a press release.
