Imphal, June 01: Informing that reports have been received regarding submission of memorandum to the Prime Minister on May 27 endorsing formation of "Greater Nagaland" by two Cabinet Ministers of Manipur Government and several MLAs from both the ruling and the Opposition party, UCM today stated the Govt as well as the Opposition cannot remain silent and ignore the matter.

In a statement, UCM secy gen Gourashyam asserted that the Govt is openly cheating the people who are staunchly against the territorial dismembering of Manipur.

He also stated that the irresponsible actions of the Cabinet Ministers and MLAs have completely undermined resolutions adopted by the State Assembly on protection of territorial integrity of the State.

There is no reason why the State Govt should not take legal actions against the Cabinet Ministers and MLAs who had stamped their signatures on the memorandum, said Gourashyam adding that Manipuris are not afraid to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the motherland and cited the June 18 2001 uprising to prove his point.
