Imphal, December 30 2008: Submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister, the JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Md Taslimuddin of Lilong Chaobok Mairenkhun has demanded institution of judicial inquiry into the incident, payment of Rs 5 lakhs as ex-gratia to the bereaved family besides a Government job.

Setting 11 am tomorrow as the deadline, the JAC has also warned of launching various democratic agitations if the Government fails to consider these demands.

The memorandum signed by the JAC convenor Md Abdur Rahim contended that Md Taslimuddin (21) s/o late Mv Karimuddin of Lilong Chaobok Mairenkhun had been arrested by some police commandos in civvie from near his house at around 5 pm yesterday and a complaint had been lodged with the Lilong Police Station by the family members and the eye-witnesses of the arrest.

However, in the newspaper report today, the police claimed that Md Taslimuddin was a KCP (MC) cadre and was shot dead with a combined force of Imphal West Police Commandos and the personnel of 32 Assam Rifles in an encounter along Liwa Road.

Condemning the conduct of the security personnel, the JAC demanded institution of judicial inquiry against the Commandos and the AR personnel involved in the killing so as to terminate them from service as an exemplary punishment for such 'killing drama'.
