Imphal, November 29 2009: The KLO/KLA has iterated that it was not involved in the murder of former Thayong village chief Reyamkhup Kom.

Speaking to media persons today, the outfit's commander in chief Timothy said that all KLO/KLA officers and cadres have been putting stay at their designated camp.

Though Thayong was under the operational area of the party, it has shifted its operational area to Saikul for the time being.

Refuting the claim of Reyamkhup's wife Thangnei Kom that one younger brother of KLA's late leader Lulun was involved in the murder as baseless, Timothy claimed that Lulun's younger brother is currently undertaking a computer engineering course at Delhi.

Moreover, Lulun's brother cannot be related to the party just because Lulun was once a leader of the party, Timothy asserted.

Taking the name of KLO/KLA in the murder was an attempt to tarnish the image of the party, the commander in chief said while pledging that the party would investigate into the murder and punish the murderers.

Reacting to the Komrem Union's allegation of deduction of certain percentage from NREGS wages and levying other forms of 'taxes', the KLO/KLA demanded that the Komrem Union should spell out the names of the outfits collecting money.

People would be knowing which outfit was operating in Thayong area, it said whole condoling the bereaved family.

Taking part in the press meet, KLO/KLA chief finance officer William Kuki said that the party has learnt of Haokothang alias Dr Pu, Jangkhohou alias Arjun Kuki, Sonkhothang Kuki, Thangmilen alias Tiger Kuki and Hemkholen alias Danial Kuki collecting money from people in Imphal area in the name of the outfit without knowledge of the party.

All five of them should confess their anti-party activities before December 5, William Kuki said.
