Dimapur, August 25: In the continued factional clashes in Nagaland NSCN-IM 'second Lieut' MaoToshi Imchen was killed reportedly by rival NSCN-K cadres at Hazi Park in the heart of Dimapur today.

Sources said that the NSCN-IM "officer" was on duty when he was fired upon by the suspected NSCN-K cadres.

Terming the killing of Imchen as unfortunate, the NSCN-IM this evening made a press release saying that in his death the outfit and the "nation" had lost a young and bright officer who stood to perform his duty in the face of the risk involved at the hands of the anti-social elements.

The NSCN-IM statement also said that the "Naga nation" is proud of the extreme sacrifice he had made, and shall be honoured in the heart of every Naga who loves the "Naga nation".

"The NSCN expresses heartfelt condolence and pray that his soul rest in peace.

His spirit shall continue to live to inspire the Naga Army's young and upcoming officer.

May God be with the bereaved family members and give them strength and solace at this hour of grief and sorrow," stated the NSCN-IM condolence message.
