Imphal, June 21 2009: The Kongpal Kongkham Leikai residence of Agriculture Deputy Director Pheiroijam Rajendra was attacked with grenades at about 11.05 last night.

While one Chinese hand grenade exploded near the gate of the Deputy Director's residence, the other exploded at the courtyard.

There has been no report of any casualty or any serious damage.

Counting the latest attack, it was the fifth time the residence of Ph Rajendra has been attacked.

Of these, grenades exploded on three occasions while it failed on two occasions.

In another incident, several rounds of gun shots were fired at the residence of the Deputy Director.

Meanwhile, taking strong exception to the bomb attack, local people of the area staged a protest demonstration at Kongpal Lai Hiden Thongkhong today.
