CPI(M) leaders draws HM's attention

Imphal, June 19 2010: CPI(M) national leaders called on Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and apprised the grim situation in Manipur due to frequent economic blockade on the national highways.

CPI (M) leader in Lok Sabha MP Busudeb Acharia and Central Committee Member of CPI (M) Noorul Huda called on the Union Home Minister in his office chamber, New Delhi yesterday and submitted a representation on the grave situation prevailing in the state.

The two leaders urged the Union home minister to take up measures for stopping illegal activities perpetrated now and then by Naga students' organisations on the national highways and make the road safe for free movement.

The two leaders further pressed for improvement of the national highway 53 and they also made their stand clear on their opposition to the demand of Greater Nagaland.
