Imphal, November 06 2008: In protest against the firing attacks at the residences of two doctors and a staff nurse of JN Hospital, employees of the hospital took out a silent rally today.

There have been firing attacks on different dates recently at the residences of senior physician Dr Thokchom Joy at Thongju Boroi Makhong, gynaecologist Dr L Sukumar at Keishamthong Hodam Leirak and staff nurse W Binashakhi at Kwakeithel Lamdong.

The silent rally started from JN Hospital complex and terminated at the same spot after going past the Imphal East DC office.

Secretary of the JN Hospital Employees' Welfare Association Dr N Dwijamani said that the JN Hospital staff would work with black badges for five days starting tomorrow.

The association would hold a meeting soon and decide what steps should be taken in case such attacks are repeated.

OPD and Casualty of the JN Hospital were closed on September 12 against UG monetary demands.
