Imphal, September 06: identity of one out of two suspected UNLF cadres gunned down by troops of 1 Assam Rifles at Nambasi in Kasom Khullen sub-division of Ukhrul district on September 2 morning has been established.

The victim is said to be one Khundom Anil Meitei (16) s/o Kh Shamu of Nongada Makha Leikai in Imphal East district.

Family members, who claimed the body from RIMS morgue today, contended that Anil left home some 5/6 months back to work in Nambasi village.

The other person killed along with Anil and whose identity could not be established till date would be disposed off tomorrow.

Body of another person slain by a combined team of Imphal West police commandos and troops of 16 Assam Rifles on September 1 afternoon at near Khonglong village, which is situated along the NH-53 and falls under Senapati district, has been disposed today as an unclaimed corpse.

Meanwhile, body of an elderly woman who died after being hit by a mini bus while trying to flee from an encounter site has been claimed by family members on completion of post mortem today.

The 60 year old Tekcham Kumu w/o K Pakchao of Yumnam Huidrom under Wangoi police station was rammed by the speeding vehicle as people ran helter skelter following a shoot-out been suspected UG activists and combined team of security force last night.

Body of the UG suspect slain in the shoot-out is laying at RIMS morgue awaiting identification.
