Imphal, June 06: Urging Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh to take up immediate measures for resolving prevailing unsettling situation at Moreh following the killing of one youth by the activists of the proscribed KNO/KNA, Universal Mothers' Organisation (UMO) today submitted a memorandum.

The memorandum, however, could not be directly handed over to the Chief Minister as he had gone to Delhi.

Addressing a press conference in this connection at Manipur Press Club here today, UMO president N Sorojini Leima asserted that the State Government should pay serious attention as the present crisis at Moreh has the potential of creating a communal confabulation.

It is no time for the Government to remain indifferent to the atrocities being committed on the innocent people living in the border town as well as to the instigation for a communal flare up by the personnel of 24 AR posted at Moreh, Sorojini said, adding that there is serious apprehension of communal conflict at Moreh because of the attitude of the AR personnel.

She also fervently appealed to all the people to maintain peace and harmony, not to listen or spread rumour and indulge in anything that might aggravate volatile situation prevailing there.
