Imphal, November 30: The identity of the youth shot dead by Imphal West police commandos at Laining village under Lamlai police station on November 28 has been established today.

The deceased is identified as Arubam Bikram alias Prem (27) son of Mani of Nongsum under Lamlai PS.

According to sources, his elder sister was married to a KCP cadre Pomila who passed away at Myanmar some time back.

The deceased was associated with his late brother-in-law for some time, said sources and added that he was also arrested earlier.

After his jail term he got married and left behind a three month old child.

Sources said that he left for Awang Sekmai along with his wife and child on November 21 stating that he was going to set up a poultry farm.

On November 28, he left his home at Awang Sekmai at about 3 pm on a bicycle after having a talk with someone on his mobile.

The cycle was found abandoned by the road side.

The body has been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS morgue today.

On the other hand the identities of the two persons killed by 1 Assam Rifles at Chassad on November 27 are yet to be established and are still lying at RIMS morgue.
