Imphal, June 30: Reacting to the statement issued by the CAO of the Zeliangrong region of the NSCN (IM), MK Winning with regard to the charges levelled against MP Mani Charenamei by the K group earlier, the spokesman of the Zeliangrong region of the NSCN (K) today said that the very statement of Winning has exposed the true identity of the IM group.

Talking to the media today, the NSCN (K) spokes- man said that though the IM group may claim that it has no representative as an MP, the fact stands that Charenamei is representing them.

It is unfortunate that the NSCN (IM) has come under the impression that having an MP or two in the Indian Parliament can help solve the Naga issue.

The statement of the IM group is self explanatory and no force on earth can contradict the fact, said the spokesman and added that under the pretext of working for the welfare of the Naga people, they want the Nagas to fall into their trap.

Making its stand clear, the spokesman said that the NSCN (K) is not against any group of people or individual but warned that anyone who works against the interest of the Naga people will be dealt with sternly.

Such persons, whether they are leaders or MPs are traitors.

On the June 16 rally organised in four hill districts, the spokesman said that the NSCN (K) is not against the wishes of the people but added that the rally was planned at the behest of the NSCN (IM) who instigated the UNC and ANSAM.

The rally was meant to create enmity among the communities living in the NE, charged the spokesman adding that such enmity will not help solve the Naga issue.

On the question raised by MK Winning over the progress of the truce between the GoI and NSCN (K), the spokesman advised the CAO to first realise his own position before questioning anyone else.
