Imphal, June 22: Welcoming the resolute stand of working towards restoration of peace and dispelling suspicion from the minds of the people as taken by leaders of various communities living in Moreh during a joint meeting yesterday, United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has congratulated the leaders of various civil organisations for their efforts in this direction.

In a statement, senior publicity officer of the outfit Ksh Yoiheiba said UNLF also agree that the recent unfortunate violent incidents at Moreh was not because of any understanding among the people but among the UG groups.

So in future too, UNLF would extend every possible assistance to the civil organisations in their efforts to promote peaceful coexistence among the people.

The statement said that it has always been the endeavour of the UNLF to spread the message of unity and oneness among the various oppressed ethnic groups in Manipur along with the belief that a joint movement of the people can only defeat India so that the people can live together in peace and prosperity, and in mutual respect of each others identities.

On the other hand, India has been employing various means to snap the existing ties among the people and subjugate them forever, the outfit charged, adding that it is heartening to know that people of Moreh, specially the Kukis and the Meiteis who understand such devilish ploys did not allow the recent Moreh incidents to snow ball into a communal confrontation.

UNLF really feels proud for this, the statement said, adding that the ongoing joint struggle of the people would bear fruit only with such understandings among the people and would ultimately help in strengthening resolute stand of the people.
