Imphal, December 19: In contrast to the statement of the State police, SP of Imphal East L Kailun has admitted arresting two PLA cadres from Lamlong Bazar area on December 16.The SP, however, in a statement clarified that the two individuals pulled up at about 6.30 pm did not admit being PLA activists on the day.

The two identified as Elangbam Ibosana alias Inaocha alias Tayaima (30) son of E Sarajyaima Singh of Hiyanglam Warak Khong and Haorangbam Kalamu alias Nganba alias Inao (19) son of H Nokindro Singh of Kumbi Salan Konjil Mayai Leikai admitted being PLA cadres only the next day (December 17).Ibosana disclosed that he joined RPF/PLA in December last year through one S/S Lance Corporal Kadamba of Uchiwa and received basic military raining in Burma under army no 2826.On the other hand, Kalamu joined the outfit in February this year through one Chingkhei, said the SP.

Both of them reportedly disclosed that they were working under the command of S/S 2nd Lt Krishna, in Division No III of the outfit's Auxiliary Department.

Nevertheless, flatly rejecting the allegation of the PLA that the arrested persons disclosed to the police about the bomb planted at Pourabi area on December 16 itself, the SP termed the outfit's allegation a deliberate attempt to hold the security forces responsible for the December 16 bomb blast.
