Before their meeting with the Chief Minister, the JAC members who came in two buses took out a protest rally from Palace Compound towards the Chief Minister's official residence.

The JAC representatives also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister.

The proceedings of the post mortem examination at RIMS mortuary was video recorded.

For further tests at forensic laboratory, vaginal swab, urethral swab and blood samples of the deceased women were also collected.

The clothes she wore on the fateful day have also been seized.

According to information received by press, it is suspected that Shantibala alias Inaothoibi might have been killed by strangulating using her own clothes.

Police have a strong suspicion that some one close to Shantibala would have been involved in the merciless killing.

She would not have gone out in the dead of the night if the person who called her by cell phone was not well acquainted with her, they reasoned.
