Imphal, April 04: A discussion session to study the possibility of declaring Dr Nara Singh as the people's candidate in the up coming 14th Lok Sabha elections organised by the Senior Citizens' Group was held at Hotel Imphal, North AOC today.

Speaking at the function today, senior citizens' Group convenor RV Minthing appealed to the senior citizens of the State to apply their minds and vote for a candidate who is sincere and has the capability to perform his duty to the fullest.

He also stated that the State needs an MP who can speak and convey his message in Parliament so that the wishes and aspirations of the people are expressed in letter and spirit to the political leaders at the Centre.

All Manipur Gorkha Ex-Serviceman Association's president Anandkumar Bist who also spoke at the function said that majority of the Nepali voters in the Inner Manipur Constituency would vote for Dr Nara as he is found to be mature and fit to be the leader of the people.

He also added that there are approximately 15,000 Nepali voters the Inner Manipur Constituency.

The members present at the discussion session after thoroughly screening the personal background, moral character, discipline and political activities of Lok Sabha candidate Dr M Nara agreed to declare him as the people's candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
