Judicial remand for Nando, two others

Imphal, July 01 2009: Prime accused in the brutal murder of contractor Y Krishnadas, Th Nando who was rearrested from Sajiwa jail, where he was lodged in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Baby Lungnila Elizabeth, and two other accused, both detained NSA have been produced before the Court and remanded to judicial custody.

Th Nando of Khangabok Part II Lamlong Keithel, who was picked up from Sajiwa jail on June 17 in connection with the dastardly killing of the contractor was produced before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate today and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

Since June 18, Nando has been remanded to police custody twice by the Court.

Based on the interrogation of Nanda two NSA detenues were also picked up from Sajiwa jail on June 23 .

The two are, Laishram Gunamani alias Priyokanta alias Guru (27) of Kongba Laishram Leikai and Ningthoujam Jiten alias Angang alias Chaoba (23) of Keirenphabi Mayai Leikai.

The two were remanded to judicial custody for 15 days by the CJM yesterday.

Y Krishnadas of Kakching who was abducted from the house of his wife at Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai on June 10 evening was found killed on June 12 at Lilong Chingjao, despite the family members paying a ransom amount of Rs 25 lakhs.

Seram Ashalata of Tera Sayang Leikai who allegedly collected the ransom money of Rs 25 lakhs was picked up by the police and sent to jail while two others, Mujibur Rehman of Lilong and Laikhuram Priyobarta of Kongpal Khaidem Leikai were also picked up by the police.
