Dear Manipuri Brothers and Sisters:
First of all, Let us pray and give our homage to all the martyrs who gave their lives in the course of Anti-Cease-fire movement. Our deep respect goes all sections of the people and organizations that participated in the protest against the cease-fire without territorial limits. The unity among our people during this toughest moment was great, proud example for all of us. It was a very sad to hear my aging mother going to the streets of Imphal for demonstration, even going to New Delhi, and my sisters on the road everyday with her little son. My little 5-year old nephews' words are still ringing in my ears. "Indomcha, I went with my friends and father for strike"
My heartfelt thanks to our special NAMA members who arranged to send memorandum to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister of India, on behalf of NAMA. Although now there is a little relief that the cease-fire extension has been withdrawn, we still have tension, and normal life is affected by road blocks on National Highways 39 and 53, Imphal-Dimapur road and Imphal-Jiribam Road. Let us hope that we maintain the communal harmony and peaceful co-existence among the various communities in our state. We hope the government will release all student leaders and others who are behind bars in connection with the agitation against the cease-fire extension. We are very far away from home but we are always dreaming and concerned about Manipur.
Dear Brothers and Sisters of Manipur, hard as it is to believe, another year has passed, and our favorite time of year is here again for NAMA convention, where I always look forward to seeing all of you and sharing a few thoughts, while eating delicious Manipuri food. I hope to see you all there. We will be able to talk and discuss about what we can do for our people and Manipur. And those of who could not attend, we will miss you and we will send you the minutes on the convention. Love you all, and have a great end of year.
