Education itself is quality. To talk about quality regarding education is a wrong concept. But, to talk about quality in respect of education again is right when there is increased number of degree holders without quality and acceptable merit. Quality control in education is a right concept when there is miss-mess in the case of education.
To talk much about quality education only indicates that there is an ailment in our society in respect of the degrees acquired. It means if there are doubtful degrees, there should be way out to quality education.

Any effort by any person at any level for the sake of education becomes commendable work. Considering this aspect and promotion of minorities particularly Meitei-Pangal community through education, I would like to refer to one letter dated 14th June, 2015, I had received long time back in this daily.
My co-author wrote "The flagship programme of MOBEDS, Manipur that is the 6(six) months remedial free coaching has started recently in minorities' concentrated districts of Manipur. To talk about a particular coaching centre in the past, Lilong wasn't very successful. The success of such programme depends on the regularity and sincerity of the stake holders particularly students.
This time, the Committee on Quality Education, Lilong (COQEL) has taken the initiative and ensured an excellent start. The unavoidable participation by local club /organizations in such government projects is one requirement for success of such programme. It is a very healthy and welcome change that the activities of COQEL are becoming laudable.
So far the committee has successfully prevented the use of unfair means during examinations at Lilong centre, Thoubal district. It conducted quality education awareness campaign and career counseling and skilled development lectures in numerous schools.
It had distributed meritorious awards to the successful students of class X and XII examinations conducted by various boards. The committee has formed a three tire body (parents, students and teacher& intellectuals) to control quality education in the area."
This time what we are bothering is about the increased numbers of students in the coaching programme. More than 50(fifty) students have been enrolled in every class (VII to X).
An ideal coaching class should have not more than 30(thirty) students. To bring effectiveness of such programmes in the mind, we should have two centers from the next session. As of now, the opening of yet another center will not be feasible. The authority should arrange for additional teachers so that additional sections of classes can be arranged.
Increased number of students' enrollment in the coaching programme is due to the concerted efforts of COQEL volunteers who have gone to the extent of house to house campaign. Another motivating factor no doubt is the declaration by the Project Director, MOBEDS, Manipur, that every student enrolled in the coaching will be selected for pre and post matric scholarship by MOBC.
We sincerely hope that the students will be given the scholarship. The effort of MOBEDS, COQEL and various other club/organizations need to be acknowledged and encouraged by everyone. This system should be introduced in other coaching centers of MOBEDS in Manipur."
The letter has indicated that the MOBEDS, Manipur, has been carrying out its flagship programme for quite some years. To expand this cause, some supporters of education and quality education have worked tirelessly to encourage 6(six) months free coaching system of MOBEDS.
It is an acceptable general concept that the students can be trained educationally within six months. Success in this respect will come only when there is full and keen participation of students in the classroom for complete six months. Teachers are only instruments and guides who make students easy of the study problems and feel to read.
Success of students depends on the teachers who are selected with the procedures. One of the criteria for the selection should consider about the Child psychology. That is the teachers need to acquire teachers education. Unemployed educated persons in the village can be given jobs to run such programmes.
Above all, selection of teachers is one good criterion for success of such coaching programmes. Students need guidance to such an extent that their percentage of success should be up to the mark. More success is intended when there is good relationship of students, teachers, parents and organizers.
Overall success will only be given by an analysis of the success rate in PC (%) of the students in the board examinations.
